THE JOURNEY

I thought all roads were blocked
I thought all I could do was to turn around and return
I thought the journey was never meant to start
I thought I had wasted time, money, sweat and energy
I thought I was a fool
I thought it was all over
But…
Then, I rethought:

“I want to be relevant in the society. I have a passion growing in me. I promise to be productive in life and build my passion”.

Everyone has a dream, no matter how lazy or hardworking you may be. We all have our goals, our dreams, our passion and we want to make sure they flourish and bring promising future, but all these do not come with folded arms. They come with persistence, doggedness and patience.

You were doing great, but now you think you probably shouldn’t have started, because it seems like everything has suddenly started working against you and your dream. Those who should be of help, seem not to see the potentials in you. Well, I have this question for you:

Did you conceive your dream alongside them? Did they implant the passion in you? Did they draw out the vision for you with guidelines on how to work with it? Even with how much medical practitioners know, a mother is always in the best position to tell how the baby inside of her moves, when it kicks and when it’s taking a nap. So, no matter how much they know about your dream, just you and only you conceive the dream, and only you can bring it into reality.

Do you know what exactly the problem is? I guess not, let me do you the honour of telling you. The problem is that you are still living in that dream and have refused to wake up from your slumber. You’ve always wanted to be great in life, you want to break protocols just to get to that peak that you’ve always been staring at, you look up to a lot of people and you intend to soar way higher than them. How awesome your thoughts are.

Have you ever had a dream and all you could remember is the end of the dream? or just a particular face in the dream? That is exactly how the dream you conceive about your life and future is. You have vision of where and who you are going to be in say, 10 years’ time. So, when things go other parts different from what you’ve conceived, you tend to be confused and don’t know what’s going on.

My dear, things don’t appear the way they seem. This is no longer a dream, it is REALity, you have to know that the only part of the dream you remember is the end part. It is now up to you to create a beginning and live the journey in-between. Things will go wrong, roads will close, opportunities will appear difficult to grab, but all these things are not so you can give up on your dreams, they are proofs of something great to come. When vices and negativities come your way, use them to your advantage and transform them into virtues and positivity.

Never give up on your dream, let your passion that begets the dream always drive you to always want to do more, no matter the blocks ahead, overtake that block or walk around it until you are back on track.

Never forget your destination. There is no journey when the destination point is forgotten, remember you decided to start living the journey because you have a destination, which will end up being another starting point for something greater. Who sets out on a journey, gets on a bus and on the way, forgets where he sets out to go? The possibility of that sounds insane right? So also is the possibility of you giving up on your dream. Never forget what exactly drove you in the beginning, that drive should be your passion and your weariness antidote. Never get weary.

Remember all these and return to that blocked road, break the bricks, break the walls and continue your journey cos nothing and no one can stop you, unless you give them the leverage. I wish you a safe and happy journey.
Do not forget “God’s got you”.
