CHRISTMAS STORY
CHRISTMAS
He was conceived
He was born
Crown Him king
Crown Him Lord
Worship the king
On Bethlehem soil
A king is born
On a cold winter day
Hallelujah!
It’s December
It’s so cold
It’s winter
It’s freezing right here
It’s like when Christ was born
Let’s have a mass
Let’s remember the birth of our king
On a day like this
Christ was born
Hallelujah!
Here comes Christmas
So, I decided to put up that little piece that looks like a poem or a song lyrics, I really don’t know if it’s any of those. Anyway, I put it up to explain my little story behind Christmas.
Yep, it’s almost like a routine, everyone, everywhere celebrates Christmas on the 25th of Dec, thanks to those who chose that day. I’m glad I have a season to sing Christmas songs, a season to wear red and white or green and red, without looking odd, a season to act a drama that depicts how Christ was born, a season to dine and wine with lovers of Christ, but folks (I mean, those of you who chose the special season for the special one, Christ), you forgot to specify that Dec. 25 is not the only day to celebrate our king, it’s not the only day to remember his birth.
I remember a time around March, when I used a Christmas song as my phone ringtone and anytime it rings, someone would say “Funke na waa ooo, it’s not yet Christmas nah” and I was like, every day is Christmas to me.
It’s a great thing to pick out a day to celebrate Christ’s birthday, even though it’s not necessarily the actual date. After all, we celebrate our birthdays too. My point with the whole thing is Christ is not a mere man that he should be celebrated once in a year, He gave us a lifetime salvation, a kind of salvation that is at work every second, that doesn’t get out of date. His birth speaks on your life every moment you breathe, so also is his death, but I don’t want to go into Easter celebration now. So, as I was saying, I’m celebrating Christmas with my family right now, but I never stop to celebrate Christ’s birth.
Christmas has so become a routine that if anyone wishes merry Christmas in August, everyone is going to think the person is mad, or if I cook a special meal and tell my friends to come dine with me cos I’m celebrating Christmas, in June, my friends are going to think I’m outta my mind, simply because it’s not Dec. 25.
Christ is more than a day celebration, He is an everyday celebrant. You know what? He celebrates us every day because we are His, Yeah, He doesn’t only celebrate you on your birthday, why not do him likewise?
Just as you are celebrating Christmas right now, never you stop having a mass to celebrate Christ’s birth (Christmas) cos everyday belongs to God.
EVERYDAY IS CHRISTMAS
MERRY CHRISTMAS
