LOST BUT FOUND
I’ve come to realise that a lot of people mess up in their career or end up not achieving their set goals, simply because of a misplaced identity.
Now, you may be wondering what your “not being able to get an oven for baking cake” has got to do with who you are. Well, sounds like nonsense I must agree, but why don’t you take a chill pill and press on, read on to know if it is actually nonsense.
First of all, number one problem is probably that you are not a patient fellow. Taking a hint from the fact that you most likely really questioned my first impression of the misplaced identity.
Patience is a personality. Not everyone’s got patience. We all want to be this and that, but not everyone is patient enough to take it one step at a time. You’ve seen how sweet your plans are gonna turn out to be in the end, but have you thought of the kind of patience you will have to curtail in the process? Have you thought of the kind of patience you will need to have with the folks you will get to work with? Not everyone would understand your dreams. Yes, you feel he would make a great partner but you had to explain the vision to him like a million times before he could get along. She’s the best person to handle the job but she kept on asking questions before she could really get the idea.
Before you forget their potentials so soon, before you give up on what they have to offer, why not take on your identity, which is patience and let things go one step at a time for a great result to be met.
Everyone looses patience once in a while, but at some point the story has to become lost but found to achieve an awesome result.
It’s a new year and it’s no doubt that virtually everyone has taken time to ruminate over what they did and did not achieve in the past year. Some are encouraged because they did achieve a lot, congrats to you on that but some are discouraged because they achieved little or nothing at all. This write up isn’t to show you how much you messed up or to judge you for not reaching your goals, it is however to show how the story can be turned around.
So, you’ve had this dream of starting a canteen in 2013, the year passed on with nothing, 2014 came on, nothing, 2015 and now 2016 and absolutely nothing and now in 2017, you don’t even have that focus again, you’ve forgotten how sweet the idea was when you conceived it in 2013. Now, you feel, I was just living on too much excitement, anxiety only took the best part of me, I’m never gonna get this done, I’m not even that good of a cook, I don’t have what it takes to start up a business, I can’t handle a business of my own, blah blah blah…
Now, you are not sure of what or who you are anymore, you are thinking you should probably start thinking of a less strenuous plan because you apparently do not have what it takes to handle this. Welcome to the world of misplaced identities.
My dear, falling during a race is not the greatest problem, the greatest problem is actually loosing hope, believing that you’ve lost already and staying right there on the floor. You need to get back on your feet, shake the dust off and continue the race.
Now you are thinking “I’m not Usain Bolt, I can’t run, I suck at this, I’m no match for this task” Yes, I totally and absolutely agree that you ain’t Usain Bolt but you are surely a match for the task. You are you, you are strong, you are unique in your own way, others have their own way of doing things and so do you. You are probably not reaching your goals because you’ve made another’s style your style. You want to live on another’s identity and you don’t even know if you have an identity of your own.
Others achievements are only to spur you on and to challenge you not to make you a copy cat. You can be great, you can achieve whatever you want to, you can even be the best at it, all you need do is to find that unique style of yours, find your misplaced identity. You are strong, you are awesome, you’ve got a lot of potentials in you, you are the best at attaining your dreams, you are absolutely unique and you are definitely not struggling with a low self esteem, you are too awesome to allow that, you are a powerful human and this New Year is yours to take.
Your passion, your vision, your identity, your zeal, everything seemed lost, you just need to find them. As a matter of all truth, anything lost and found always come back strong because they wouldn’t wanna be lost again. So, I’m really looking forward to seeing that your lost dream in its explosive form when found. Just believe, You are Able!!!
Thank you so much Funke for sharing this inspiring thought with us. God bless you.
